The CEMIF is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the scientific and humanistic research with phenomenogical orientation. The CEMIF is integrated by scholars and students of different universities from Mexico and abroad, that develop research projects from different fields of science and philosophy, having as meeting ground some of the five research lines that the Center currently follows.

Through the Seminars of Basic Studies on Transcendental Phenomenology, the CEMIF has an active participation in two major Universities in Mexico: Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México. These groups of study are integrated by undergraduate and graduate students in Philosophy and similar disciplines, associated with the current research projects of the Center on transcendental phenomenology. The Center yearly organizes, through their seminars, International Lectures held by the current visiting scholars of our center. Some of the scholars that have visited our community recently are Javier San Martin (UNED-Spain) Anthony Steinbock (SIU-USA), Sebastian Luft (La Marquette University, USA), Sacha Carlson, Stefano Santasilia, José Lasaga Medina and Agustín Serrano de Haro.

The main aim of the CEMIF is the development of the conditions for the renovation and enrichment of the philosophical and phenomenological tradition in Mexico.

The CEMIF has an Editorial Series dedicated to the phenomenological exploration of the philosophical anthropology and an International Journal, the Acta Mexicana de Fenomenologia dedicated to the development of a multi-disciplinary discussion that allows the encounter and confluence of research having in common a phenomenological theoretical framework or phenomenological inspiration.
